What is 2degrees Girls Got Game?

2degrees Girls Got Game (GGG) is more than just a programme, it's a movement to belong to. Designed by Basketball New Zealand, it is a space created specifically for women and girls to thrive and shows everyone that basketball is a sport for them.

No matter who you are, where you live, or how you play, 2degrees Girls Got Game creates opportunities to build confidence, belonging and enjoyment in and through basketball by delivering:

* FUN and POSITIVE experiences

* SUPPORTIVE and SAFE-TO-FAIL environments

2degrees Girls Got Game gives primary, intermediate and secondary-school aged girls practical opportunities to participate, build confidence, develop skills and create connections through the game of basketball. Through research, we know that girls often need more than a one-off opportunity before feeling comfortable to keep coming back and exploring what the game has to offer, so the National 2degrees Girls Got Game Programme has been designed to break down barriers and create flexible and consistent opportunities for women and girls to have great experiences.

How can you participate?

To ensure the programme is delivering the right experiences for participants, there are lots of ways that 2degrees Girls Got Game Programmes are delivered across the country.

At Basketball Otago, we offer the following 2degrees Girls Got Game Programmes:

* In-school Programmes

*Development Skills Programmes

*Organised school competitions

* Holiday Programmes

OUR GOAL

The goal of our Development Pathway is for participation and fostering potential.

We aim to do this by engaging as many participants as possible in basketball activities and cultivate a sense of belonging which encourages participants to become lifelong members of the basketball community. The development courses and trainings help bridge the gap between our participation programs and our representative teams. Introduces promising youngsters to a more structured training environment.
