The Momentum Agency Otago Toroa are the champions of the inaugural BBNZ Men's TUPU League! Momentum Agency Otago Toroa - 97 Harbour Heat - 65 In what promised to be a clash of the titans between the undefeated Otago and Harbour, it was the hosts who started strongly and forced the Heat into an early timeout.

The Momentum Agency Otago Toroa are headed to the Grand Final of the inaugural BBNZ Men's TUPU League after a hard fought battle with Porirua. Momentum Agency Otago Toroa - 98 Porirua - 74 Otago faced their toughest test of the tournament in the semi-final as Porirua brought an aggressive, fast-paced style of basketball which helped them lead at the end of the first quarter.

It was a successful week for the Basketball Otago U14 Boys and Girls representative teams who showcased their talent and determination at the BBNZ U14 Regional Championships. Competing against the best teams on the South Island, our teams delivered impressive performances and secured notable placings across all grades. The A Boys team fought valiantly in a highly competitive A Grade field, ultimately beating North Canterbury and finishing in 3rd place.

Congratulations to Columba College who placed 10th in the highly competitive AA Girls section at the BBNZ Secondary Schools Nationals. As the only school from the Zone 6 region, they picked up impressive victories against Wellington East Girls College, Epsom Girls Grammar School, Manukura and Kaiapoi High School.

Our recent Momentum Agency Senior Representative Prizegiving celebrated the outstanding achievements of players and teams throughout the 2024 season. This special event not only recognised individual talents and collective efforts, but also highlighted the dedication and passion that drives the sport within the community. Players, coaches and supporters gathered to celebrate their successes and the evening served as a reminder of the thriving basketball culture in Otago.

Registrations are still open for the Basketball Otago October Holiday Camp! As the school holidays approaches, the Basketball Otago Holiday Camp promises an action packed week of skill development, teamwork and plenty of fun! The camp is open to children in school years 1 to 8, with split age groups throughout the camp.

The popularity of basketball in Otago is flying high and we want to continue to give our developing players and teams the best possible support on their basketball journey.
