APPLICATION FOR AGE GROUP COACHING FOR 2020 SEASON

- Under 19 Girls
Basketball Otago is now seeking expressions of interest for persons interested in assisting with the above Otago Age Group Teams as a Head Coach/ Assistant Coach. B Team Coaches may also apply at this time. (All positions are voluntary).
Applications close on Friday the 15th of November at 5:00pm.
Both successful and non-successful applicants will be notified by Friday the 6th of December.
All coaches will be asked to enter a formal coaching agreement with BBO on acceptance of their position and be expected to take part in a formal evaluation process at the end of the agreement period.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Under 13 Teams
- Run trials in accordance with BBO Representative Trial Procedures, be available for trial dates selected by BBO (dates in mid and late May after BBO Kiwi Hoops season begins).
- Design a season plan, with help from BBO Development Officer.
- Take team to preseason, mid-season non-qualifier and regional tournament (if A and B team coach. Development team goes to first two tournaments only).
- Encourage teams to attend BBNZ Under 13 skills date in September and schedule team trainings around the Skills day. Date TBD.
- Lead trainings on Sunday (U13 boys) and Saturday (U13 girls) once trials are over. A second training during the week is optional.
- Not required, but valuable, would be coaching in the Development league starting the 20th of October and finishing on the 8th of December. There is no D-league the 27th of October (Labour weekend).
- Optional – help with Morning Academies in Terms 4 and 1. Monday, Wednesday and Friday from 7am-8.15am are the days and times.
- Attend Coaches Breakfast where applicable
- Provide written feedback to athletes post season.
Under 15 and 17 Teams
- Run trials in accordance with BBO Representative Trial Procedures, be available for trial dates selected by BBO (dates in late Feb. and early March, TBD).
- Design a season plan, with help from BBO Development Officer.
- Take team to preseason, qualifying and national tournament (if A team coach and qualification dependent). B team coach must be available for the first two tournaments.
- Take teams to a prearranged tournament involving Canterbury teams (date in either April or June).
- Lead trainings on Sunday once trials are over. A second training during the week is optional.
- Not required, but valuable, would be coaching in the Development league starting the 20th of October and finishing on the 8th of December. There is no D-league the 27th of October (Labour weekend).
- Optional – help with Morning Academies in Terms 4 and 1. Monday, Wednesday and Friday from 7am-8.15am are the days and times.

Under 19 Teams
- Run trials in accordance with BBO Representative Trial Procedures, be available for trial dates selected by BBO (dates in Jan and Feb, TBD)
- Design a season plan, with help from BBO Development Officer.
- Take team to preseason, qualifying and national tournament (if A team coach and qualification dependent). B team coach must be available for the first two tournaments. National tournament is over Queen’s Birthday weekend and finishes the day after Q’Dbay. Official dates from BBNZ TBD.
- Take teams to a prearranged muster involving Canterbury teams (date in April).
- Lead trainings on Sunday once trials are over. A second training during the week is optional.
- Not required, but valuable, would be coaching in the Development league starting the 20th of October and finishing on the 8th of December. There is no D-league the 27th of October (Labour weekend).
- Attend Coaches Breakfast where applicable
