After the departure of Brittany Richards at the end of the 2022 Basketball season, we are excited to announce that Tim Gillan will be joining our Basketball Otago team as our ‘Community and Competitions Officer”. 

Tim grew up playing basketball in Dunedin and represented Otago in various age group rep teams before going on to paly for the Otago Nuggets and NZ Under 20 team. Tim has a background in running his own community basketball and community sports business in various places, and also has a professional background as a flight instructor and educator. 

Tim will bring great basketball passion and knowledge into the Basketball Otago team and it’s great to welcome Tim to the BBO team. 

He will be in charge of our community development programs (Miners, Diggers, and Girls Got Game), our Social Basketball Competitions (Adult and Secondary School), and Kiwihoops Competition. To reach Tim, you can email him at tim@otago.basketball.
